XWR-1200 Release Notes

Release Firmware Version 6.6.0

Recommended Update

Note: It is NOT recommended to update the firmware wirelessly as damage to the router may occur.

Enhancements:

  1. You will now be required to change the default admin password upon first login. The new password cannot be the existing default password. This is to comply with new security laws for California & Oregon that go into effect January 1, 2020
  2. When router is in a factory default state, the WAN port will be disabled until the admin password has been changed (see above)
  3. On first time setup or after factory default the wireless network is now secured with the following password settings:
    • Passphrase = “luxulwifi”
    • Encryption = WPA2
  4. Minor UI updates and improvements

Known Limitations:

  1. When using Safari on macOS, in some cases when changing the admin password you are not redirected to a new login screen. Solution: Close the current tab/browser, open a new tab/browser session and browse to the new IP address of the device. This fixes the issue and will allow you to move forward.

Release Firmware Version 5.0.2

This firmware release contains several enhancements and fixes and is recommended for all users.

Enhancements:

  1. A clickable “Firmware Update Available” banner notification was added to the top of the user interface to make users aware of available firmware updates when logging into the router.
  2. An “Auto Update” page was added to simplify firmware updates. This means that downloading and installing firmware files manually is no longer necessary.
  3. A search box was added to the Static Leases page to make it easier and faster to find static lease entries in a large list.

Issues Resolved:

  1. Selecting the “Apply” button no longer triggers a “Reboot…” notification for pages which don’t require a reboot. Previously, the user interface indicated a reboot was required for some changes even when a reboot wasn’t actually required.
  2. There was an issue where certain special characters in VPN Usernames would prevent users from accessing the VPN. That issue is now resolved.
  3. A scroll bar was added to Static Leases allowing users to see all saved static lease entries. Previously, no more than 10 entries were visible.

Known Issues:

  1. VLANs: When the IP address is changed on a VLAN, the DHCP Start/End values do not automatically change in the UI. To see and verify the change, Save then select Edit again
  2. DHCP Class B > Number of IP Addresses value: This value modifies LAN IP rather than DHCP Start. Until this is resolved in an upcoming release, simply edit the DHCP Start and End addresses manually for Class B networks
