ABR-5000 Release Notes

Release Firmware Version 5.4.1

Recommended Update

Enhancements:

  1. Adds support for Luxul ProWatch remote monitoring & management application (coming soon)
  2. Fixes static leases table sorting
  3. Minor UI improvements and fixes

Known Limitations:

  1. For known limitations, please see “Known Limitations” notes under previous firmware version

Release Firmware Version 5.3.1

Enhancements:

  1. You will now be required to change the default admin password upon first login. The new password cannot be the existing default password. This is to comply with new security laws for California & Oregon that go into effect January 1, 2020
  2. When router is in a factory default state, the WAN ports will be disabled until the admin password has been changed (see above)
  3. Minor UI updates and improvements

Known Limitations:

  1. When using Safari on macOS, in some cases when changing the admin password you are not redirected to a new login screen. Solution: Close the current tab/browser, open a new tab/browser session and browse to the new IP address of the device. This fixes the issue and will allow you to move forward.
  2. If the user sets up the ABR-5000 via CLI there is no way to enable the WAN ports because the CLI doesn’t allow for the admin password to be changed. The user will need to login to the UI and change the admin password before the WAN ports will be enabled. CLI works as expected otherwise.
  3. For other known limitations, please see “Known Limitations” notes under firmware version 5.2.5

Release Firmware Version 5.2.6

Enhancements:

  1. Update to the Router Limits agent allowing for bandwidth monitoring & speed tests
  2. IGMP snooping is now disabled by default

Known Limitations:

  1. For known limitations, please see “Known Limitations” notes under firmware version 5.2.5.

Release Firmware Version 5.2.5

Issues Resolved:

  1. Corrects the issue of not being able to “pause” the internet while using Domotz or the Violet app.

Known Limitations:

  1. A VPN client on an Epic 5-based LAN is unable to connect to a PPTP server on the internet. Please note that PPTP is an obsolete VPN protocol with many known security issues, and that Luxul recommends the newer L2TP or IPSec protocols. If a client on an Epic 5-based network must connect to a PPTP VPN server, use the following workaround:

In the Epic 5 user interface, select Administration > Advanced page from the navigation menu. Next, set WAN PPTP Passthrough to Enabled and select Apply. In the WAN Server Address field, enter a ‘dummy’ IP address. If there is a PPTP server running on the LAN, then use the actual IP address of the PPTP server.
