Luxul’s XWC-2000 and Epic 5 Leave Their Mark on the Residential Market
Next-Generation Wireless Controller Takes Home EXC!TE Award at CEDIA Expo 2018, While Dual-WAN Wired Router Receives 2018 Electronic House Product of the Year Award
DRAPER, Utah — Sept. 13, 2018 — Luxul, the leading innovator of IP networking solutions for AV integrators, today announced that its next-generation XWC-2000 wireless controller earned an EXC!TE award from Technology Integrator magazine at the 2018 CEDIA Expo. In addition, the dual-WAN Epic 5 wired router (ABR-5000) won Electronic House’s 2018 Product of the Year Award earlier this month in the category of “Home Control & Automation: Home Networking Components.”
With winners selected by Technology Integrator’s editorial staff, the annual EXC!TE awards distinguish products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented for the custom installation professional. This year, Luxul’s XWC-2000 wireless controller was set apart by its combination of seamless roaming and installation simplicity.
In wireless networks that utilize more than one wireless access point (AP), the XWC-2000’s Roam Assist™ technology ensures that mobile devices are always connected to the best AP for the highest performance. This allows users to move freely throughout their home without the frustration of choppy video calls, intermittent whole-home audio, and slow Wi-Fi speeds. The XWC-2000 provides support for up to 32 APs, allowing each AP to be configured for a designated wireless channel, in addition to supporting individual wireless transmit power adjustment. Newly deployed APs are automatically added for plug-and-play installation. The controller itself installs in minutes, using a simple, intuitive setup wizard.
The Electronic House Product of the Year awards recognize the best technologies, products, and services for the smart home within the last year. The awards are judged by an unbiased panel made up of several industry leaders, along with the editors of CE Pro and ElectronicHouse.com, who evaluated multiple entries on creativity, innovation, functionality, aesthetics, and lifestyle benefits to the homeowner. In the category of “Home Control & Automation: Home Networking Components,” Luxul’s EPIC 5 router impressed with its built-in Domotz remote management and Router Limits content management technologies.
The Epic 5 delivers Gigabit WAN-to-LAN speeds for ultra-fast streaming and bandwidth-intensive applications. For integrators, the router’s built-in Domotz remote management technology is a groundbreaking feature that saves time and money by allowing them to remotely manage and support their clients’ networks — including all connected devices — greatly reducing the need for truck rolls and service calls. The Epic 5’s Router Limits content management puts users in complete control of their internet experience via an interface that can be accessed from anywhere. The router offers a full feature set, with an easy-to-use interface and capabilities that ensure optimal network performance, scalability, and security, including firewall, QoS, virtual local area network (VLAN), and virtual private network (VPN).
“For both the commercial and residential channels, we packed our XWC-2000 controller and Epic 5 wired router with advanced technologies that dramatically simplify installations, increase profits for integrators, and deliver the ultimate in performance for their customers,” said Mike Grubb, vice president of marketing at Luxul. “We couldn’t be prouder to have our efforts recognized with these prestigious awards from Technology Integrator and Electronic House.”
